This morning started with a trip into town. We worked in the field to collect and test water samples. See how our watershed is fairing below. Our afternoon and evening consisted of an eco challenge. Each trail group worked together to craft an eco friendly plan for a building/business. Ideas included an arcade, animal shelter, water park and the Quicken Loans Arena.

a.k.a The time the bus broke downSo...
We went to Cuyahoga Valley National Park today for the "Ways of the Whittlesey" program. The kids learned all about the prehistoric indian tribe that lived in the Cleveland area. They played games that Native American children might have played, practiced throwing with an atl atl (ask your student what that is!), and ground corn with sticks and rocks. On the way there, our bus broke down on 77, about 15 minutes from the park site. We waited for the bus far off the highway, with a police escort. During the wait, we saw a deer, and encouraged many a semi-truck to honk at us! Overall, it was an interesting day. All the kids were safe, the bus didn't break down on the way home, and all of the 4th graders got their passes that get them in free for one year into all the National Parks. Have a wonderful 3 day weekend, and don't forget about Spirit Week next week! -Ms. H & Ms. B |
